Thanks for the tip, spacemec! That at least sounds much better than the other methods I read about. I've kept the old flange - a nice test object!

I just had mine all apart and I saw cracks but no leaks....any particular year models this affects more?

Fuel pump

I guess I should get in there and check mine. I have the time right now because the bikes down right now with a bad rear tire. The tread started separating from the cord. I’m waiting for some new tires to be delivered.

From what I know now, cracks are the starting point. As far as I know did Colder recommend to BMW not using this kind of collar with their connector. That means they will all crack some sooner some later.
