Hendricks Shock Absorbers

The author of the following information is David (drmajor)

You will not know the maker- Suspension Systems, or Hendrick Shocks of Charlotte NC.

I was put onto him via BMW Charlotte who uses them for their race bike and have been please with them. When I bought the bike, they had one behind the counter and the fit and finish were equal to anything I've seen- Ohlins or Wilbers. Well, actually, they should be equal to Wilbers as the core is made by the same company that makes the cores for Wilbers.

We chose to us Eibach springs. I have used Eibach before on my son's race bikes and we really liked them. They don't settle near as much as the stock springs do.

Kenny also makes shocks for NASCAR racers, if you have a need for that. He has 20 years experience ..

Why did I go with an unknown?

Well, I got a quote for Ohlins @$ 1800. WOW- I knew the dollar was low, but ouch.!!!

Wilbers has changed its USA dealers and I really had a hard time getting a straight quote for what I wanted. Never had this issue with Klause when he had Wilbers. Lover the ones on the LT and the 02 GSA (for sale).

Kenny's price was a little lower than Wilbers @$1250 for set and if I came there, he'd install them. Not really isn't that hard on the GSA. The LT can be fun!

Thanks for the info, David!

Some details look indeed close to Wilbers design. Looking forward to hear what you find out over the next days!

Kenny Hendricks vs. ELKA

I tried purchasing suspension from Kenny Hendricks. Kenny couldn't get delivery from his supplier for some of the parts. Kenny seems to be a nice guy with good intentions. He could use a business manager who understands United States Interstate Commerce regulations since he violated a handful of these in my case. Eventually I was able to get a full refund and purchased and received suspension from ELKA in Canada. The three month delay in trying to work with Kenny costs me additional money since the USD exchange rate changed significantly during that time period. I believe the suspension Kenny is trying to sell is first rate. I decided to go to another vendor because there are two parts to the sale: the product provided and on-going support. Through no fault of Kenny, he was not able to support the product (or deliver).

Elka Suspension was a wonderful experience. They were timely to order and deliver. Everything I received was well documented and fit perfectly. Elka is a well established firm that has their business in order. :-D

Shocks

At this time, I would suggest not using Hendrick.

He needs to get his act together. The rear shock didn't fit in the upper mount till he modified it, and the lower mount needed some added bushings to take up room side-top-side.

We'll still have to see on the front.

Where did you get Elka? Never heard of them.
