Brake fluid - light sensitive ?

Extremely hot - extremely strong sun!

Touring in Australia 4 weeks, the brake fluid in the urine container changed from light yellow to orange. Is brake fluid light sensitive?

I have not had my fluid in my GSA change, but it has not been left in the sun much either. My Stroms fluid turned orange over about 3 years...yours change just while you were gone???

The brake fluid was changed before I rode through Australia. When I came back about 5 weeks later it was orange (the type the local BMW agent uses is almost clear like water when new, with only a very slight yellowish tint). The bike was ridden for weeks in extreme heat, many days around 100 F and more, parked in outside in the same conditions.

Not that there is anything wrong with the brake. But I was just wondering if brake fluid degrades under stron UV light or constant heat.

I would be more prone to suspect heat for the transition rather than UV on that short of span. Did the dealer offer any explanation?

Under continous use, and especially hard breaking, brake fluid can heat up alot. I have had it literally boil on race bikes. And yes once it was heated up alot it started getting a brownish yellow...
