Jumping 3 years forward, I did never notice any disadvantage whatsoever. It seems the oil cooler is much more important for the R 12 engines.

The next time I would consider skipping crash bars altogether, and only using these. Forget about looks or what others may think. These are meaty and they are good for a bit shin protection, too.
