After market lower cylinder guards.

I bought my R1200GSA used and it came with lots of first owner add-on’s. One add-on was this lower cylinder head guards. Although the guards look fairly good the bracket that ties them in to the forward cylinder guard is horrible.

I decided to make new brackets. I started with a 100 thousandths thick piece of 6064 T3 Aluminum, Formed it around 1 and ¼ pipe to get the shape I wanted.

With a hammer, clamps, drill, a screw driver for prying and a little effort I got it all to line up and bolt on through the original holes. I used ¼ black rubber between the bracket and the forward guard.

I have since painted it with a silver paint to mach the guards. No picture yet.

That looks certainly a lot better. Let us also see the final result.
