Since I'm already into this bike with lots of money, I decided to spend a little more. I'm telling my friends not to stand really close behind me because my wallet might burst into flames at any moment.
I found a local shop that installs 3M clear bra stuff. For $80 USD the color portion of the tank cover was covered. The 3M stuff stretches and conforms to the tank perfectly and no bubbles exist. No sense attaching a picture, you can't see anything.
At the same time, the guy installed pin stripping on the beak. It's hard to see it now that I've installed an Aeroflow windshield and lower half faring but I like it. Serves no functional purpose. Cost of the pinstripping was $5 USD. You can maybe find pictures of my bike under the Aeroflow windshield section:
