Anakee-II

Any word on the new Michelin
Anakee-II?
I spoke with Michelin rep at Daytona bike week and he indicated that the
Anakee-II was dual compound and should last longer, yet be stickier in turns.

I have not personally run them yet but intend to in the future. They are on back order on Motorcycle superstores but some of the other vendors show to have them now.

I do have no personal experience with the Anakee II. Personally I am only familiar with version I.

From the German GS-ers comments I can't see any relevant mileage advantage of the version II over I. The wet grip is further improved, and general grip as well (breaking, cornering etc). High speed stability is not as what some others tires have to offer.

Looking for a good touring tire I would not be put off by the results and ranking as given here: Choosing the right tire. As a mileage tire it might not be the very best choice.

While on my latest trip back east, I had a chance to visit with a GS rider in Chattanooga Tennessee. He was running the Anakee 2 and was not happy with them. At 2000 miles, it had dimples forming on the front tire. He plans to replace with old style Tourance.
