Large tank GS

At the regular Bike night in Edmonton, Canada I noticed this GS with a 43 liter tank.
800km range according to owner.

1000km range if wind at back.

And a very reliable fuel gauge, it seems!

Sheesh! I can't help but wonder how top heavy the bike must feel? I mean, the GS (like the V-Strom) is already a rather tall beast - but with 43 liters of fuel in the tank it must be a little unnerving when doing slow speed manoeuvres...

Anyhow - it sure looks cool! By the way, is that a custom gear indicator on the dashboard (aluminium thing on the right), or is that the fuel gauge?

Cheers,
Lucky

Hi Luckyll
don't think its a stock gear indicator. I guess after putting on the BIG tank he was not done and added several other farkles.
Next time I see the guy I'll ask him. and take some more shots (detail).
hope you can ride out there. to cold here and snow.
patience, patience, patience ....... sigh

Can't help but wonder how many kms he can cover with a full tank!!! Heck, might even be enough to cover the long, long miles of northern Ontario on one tank (i.e. Ottawa to Thunder Bay - ugh).

By the way, winter's here in full force on the East Coast: 2 storms already, about 3 feet of snow on the ground. Sigh... Although, it isn't as cold as the weather you've been getting ;-)

Cheers,
Lucky
