Brake Pads

My rear brake pads were worn again. This time they held 13,000 km / 8,000 miles. First pair was down at 10,000 km.

- 34212335465 Repair Kit Brake Lining S$ 66.88
- Labour S$ 25.50

together incl. local tax S$ 98.85 / US$ 69.40 / Euro 47.30 . Ok what?

The rear brake disc looks pretty messy. I think it needs replacement at around 30,000 km.

Only 13K out of your year pads? I understand you must ride mostly stop-n-go traffic in S'pore, but aren't those pads wearing mighty quick? Is this typical of the GS's?

Cheers,

As far as I see from two German Beemer forums, the GS eats through rear brake pads. I do almost never operate the rear brake pedal, since the front lever operates both anyway. As we know, the integral braking system operates the rear brake together with the front brake.

Still better than eating the fronts pads.
